What are the lessons of the Greer case study Friedman describes in Chapter 11? How did Greer adapt to technological change?
Greer had a photography business, in which he was rapidly losing clients. HE realized that other people could do the same work for possibly a lower price or better technology or quality. He realized that in order to keep his company afloat he must keep up with technology that other companies had. Not only did he have to worry about the small companies but the large companies as well. If he did not increase his technology knowledge as well at implement it, and then he would continue to lose business.
He took this lesson and applied it by buying a new camera with a computer so he did not have to use digital photos any longer. He also began to use the "touch up" function to make customers happier. Because of several technological changes his is now able to keep up with competitors.
