Agreed. In this flat world, it is the survival of the fittest, and that applies to companies all over the U.S. and the world. Many companies are not able to survive because they can't keep up with the rising competition of the flat world. As I see it, if someone else is going to do it to survive, you must as well.

It is sad that this has to happen, but as another person stated earlier it is survival of the fittest. These countries that jobs are being shipped over have adapted to work for very little money, and it would be an unwise business decision for a company not to save money by shipping jobs overseas.

I think the U.S. should give businesses in the U.S. an incentive to keep their business in the U.S. It may be cheaper to go over seas but its going to hurt our economy. It's going to put people in the U.S. out of jobs therefore when the company that went over seas tries to sell their product in the U.S. people aren't going to buy it because they won't have any money. So it may benefit businesses in the short run but I think its going to hurt them in the long run.

President elect Obama has talked about charging the companies who send american capable jobs overseas some amount, but i don't know what the specifics are on that. i do feel horrible about people loosing their jobs and especially during htis time in the year wiht Christmas right around the corner. i just found out today that a coworker of mine's husband had just lost his job because of one reason or another, i didn't pry, but what i understood was it was simply a layoff. i felt bad that i could not do anything or help. She seems fine now but i will be praying for her and her family. something in this economy definately needs to change.
