I am all about helping people out, but how far are we willing to go. A lot of our business are moving overseas making it very difficult for US employees to find employment. Some people been with companies for years and years and all of a sudden company is moving to a third world country leaving those people is dispair. I personally think that companies are forced to think for themselves and their survival. When we are forced with a decision that we have to make and we cannot come to a solution we are forced to do what is the best alternative.
We have a country with the highest living standards in the entire world, companies find it more profitable operating at countries China, and Vietnam where people are willing to work for 13 cents a day. It is a strategic move. Why pay someone out minimum wage here when you can go to Vietnam and pay 13 cents a day.
It hurts pur economy but United States is a country where everyone thinks for their best interest and the interest of another person or its country. We all live and think for ourselves, therefore we should not complain next time we see a big manufacturing company moves its business to a third world country.
Agreed. In this flat world, it is the survival of the fittest, and that applies to companies all over the U.S. and the world. Many companies are not able to survive because they can't keep up with the rising competition of the flat world. As I see it, if someone else is going to do it to survive, you must as well.

It is sad that this has to happen, but as another person stated earlier it is survival of the fittest. These countries that jobs are being shipped over have adapted to work for very little money, and it would be an unwise business decision for a company not to save money by shipping jobs overseas.

I think the U.S. should give businesses in the U.S. an incentive to keep their business in the U.S. It may be cheaper to go over seas but its going to hurt our economy. It's going to put people in the U.S. out of jobs therefore when the company that went over seas tries to sell their product in the U.S. people aren't going to buy it because they won't have any money. So it may benefit businesses in the short run but I think its going to hurt them in the long run.

President elect Obama has talked about charging the companies who send american capable jobs overseas some amount, but i don't know what the specifics are on that. i do feel horrible about people loosing their jobs and especially during htis time in the year wiht Christmas right around the corner. i just found out today that a coworker of mine's husband had just lost his job because of one reason or another, i didn't pry, but what i understood was it was simply a layoff. i felt bad that i could not do anything or help. She seems fine now but i will be praying for her and her family. something in this economy definately needs to change.
